Sermon: The Patriarch – Greener Grass?
Genesis 13: As the Abraham story moves forward, this story of Lot separating is vital to understand the challenge of living by faith. Again, the issue is trusting in God's provision and having the right eyes to see. We need our vision cleansed and clarified by the truth of Christ in order to navigate life properly.

Sermon: The Patriarch – Preservation of the Promise
Genesis 12.10-20: The story of Abraham and Sarah in Egypt is a challenging one to understand. We look at some of the themes that are going on and above all look to God's intention to preserve his people in its infant stages from the powers of darkness. God is faithful.

Sermon: The Patriarch – Calling on the Name of the Lord
Genesis 12.4-9: After God's call, Abraham obeys God and travels to Canaan. In seeing what he does, we see a key part of how one lives within a pagan culture. A key thing is to keep before us 'calling on the name of the LORD.' In the midst of life's troubles, it is very easy for the human soul to wander from the LORD, but it is only in the LORD where life and hope is found.

Sermon: The Patriarch – Fount of Blessing
Genesis 12.1-9: God desires and plans for blessing for us and his world, but mankind pursues the path of curse. With Abraham, God speaks into the curse to offer a word of hope and life. He names us as his children and offers us an ever-expansive future of hope. In him, though the world might despise us, we become people of the name, or of renown in the heavenly kingdom.

Sermon: The Patriarch – Eyes to See
Genesis 12.1-9: Vital to understanding Abraham's story is the concept of perception. The ability to see correctly is lost in Genesis 3 and it leads to chaos. But in Abraham, God seeks to teach mankind to see rightly with eyes focused on him.

Sermon: The Patriarch – Who Determines Our Steps?
Genesis 11.27-12.3: To get into Abraham's call he receives, we consider the cultural background of where he came from. As we understand the historical and cultural context, we can better understand the character of God's call upon him. What was Ur like, from where he was called? What was the world about at that time? What might it speak to us about our own situation?

Sermon: Steadfast in the Wind and Waves
Ephesians 4.1-16: The resurrection serves as the solid ground beneath our feet in a world that brings us to be tossed and turned on chaotic waves. Christ is the Word made flesh and it is through him that we too can be those in whom the word becomes flesh as we engage the living God calls us to. It is the new life that Jesus gives us that we are called to pursue. May God strengthen us by his Spirit to live embodied lives of faith.

Sermon: The Word that Bears Us to Eternity
I Peter 1.10-2.3: The events of Easter confirm that the word of the Lord endures forever, for the word of the world in condemnation of God to death did not hold. And with this knowledge of Christ that we've been given, everything has changed for us who believe this word. And it calls us to 'gird up the loins of our minds' to be ready for the fight before us. It is a battle for the true way - in right thinking to the true word and living that truth out in holy living. This leads us to eternity, for God's word is the one that will last and endure to all eternity.

Sermon: The Word that Will Not Be Silenced
Luke 19.28-44: As Jesus enters Jerusalem to the praises of his disciples, an opposing voice rises - telling Jesus to get his disciples to be quiet. Jesus refuses and speaks of the 'stones crying out.' The word will not be denied, for it is the source of life and the God of life will win, even if the stones must cry out. Praise God!
