Genesis 18.16-33: After a message of hope, the LORD’s visit brings a message of judgment. Abraham stands in the middle of this as he is brought into the knowledge of God’s plans. We see God preparing Abraham to know how to be a true representative of the message of God to the world. One part is a call to holiness and a second is serving as intercessors that the world might respond to God’s mercy in Christ.
