John 1.1-18: Last week we looked at God calling a famine of the word over Israel because of their apostasy. In Christ coming, he is the answer to that famine that so plagues the human soul. Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. In Christ, he is the Word made flesh, the source of our life and the hope of our hearts. We must continually draw close to him that he might form us and fill us along the designs of God’s glory and life.
