I Kings 18.16-24: We see what happens when the powers of darkness are placed in the center, hardness and famine. But, the good news that Elijah shows us is the surrounding and life-giving power of the Spirit that brings life. Elijah foreshadows Jesus, who through his death and resurrection becomes the new center on which to base our life.
