Exodus 8.16-19: In this third plague, a detail noted is the Egyptian magicians couldn’t match what Aaron and Moses do. They are undone. All their secret arts are shown as a fraud, empty, and lacking power. But the name of the LORD is powerful and knowing it brings life and hope over death. This is the power of Jesus’ name that has been given to us. It protects us from the destructive darkness and gives us the hope of everlasting life.
